river crossing

Many people already know that Burma means a lot to me.
The place, the people, the memories.

I was looking at old Burma pictures the other day with an old Burmese friend of mine and she asked me, of all the pictures i have of Burma, which one i like best. Its this one: of me crossing the river with roy and Kor. We had lugged tons of equiptment (1 laptop; 1 printer; 2 print camera; 2 polaroid cameras; 2 video camera complete with mic; 1 panaromic camera; 1 slide camera; our own barang barang....) and had to find our way across the river because the bridge to the village we were going to was broken.

Burma is about faith, about friendship, about giving, about life, about people, about simplicity, about food, about explorationand discovery; about.... I can't explain what Burma's really about; i'd never do it justice.

It just is.

definition

My dad asked me an interesting question today:
what is it that you do actually?
The honest truth is I don't quite know; most of the time anyway.
People around me seem to have found ways to describe the thing that I do:
Motivational trainer. Teacher. Study skill specialist. Mentor. Counsellor. Life Coach. Peak performance trainer.
I like to think i'm not any of the above; well, maybe a little of each.
But i'm mainly a facilitator of change.
Call my a change catalyst.
That sounds quite cool; and hopefully- God willing- accurate.
Change Catalyst. Child of God. Daughter. Sister. Friend.
Yeah... sounds much better, don't you think? :)
